Overview
One 800G port on one MPO-16 connector. DR8 runs eight 100G lanes over eight fiber pairs at 1310 nm, for switch-to-switch links up to 500 m on single-mode fiber.
Per lane, the optics match 2×DR4; what differs is the cabling. DR8 suits structured cabling built on 16-fiber trunks, and a fan-out cable splits it into 2 × 400G DR4 or 8 × 100G DR at the far end.

Questions
DR8 or 2×DR4?
Same eight lanes, different connectors. DR8 is one MPO-16 and one 800G port; 2×DR4 is two MPO-12s and two 400G ports. Pick the one that matches your trunks and the port at the far end.
What fan-out cable does a breakout need?
MPO-16 to two MPO-8/12 legs for 2 × 400G DR4, or MPO-16 to eight duplex LC for 8 × 100G DR. All legs must be single-mode and APC-polished.
Where is the power figure?
The manufacturer's catalog we reviewed does not list the single-port DR8, so we give power from its datasheet with each quote instead of guessing here.
