Overview
The workhorse optic of 800G GPU clusters: two independent 400G DR4 ports in one OSFP module, each on its own MPO-12 connector, over single-mode fiber up to 500 m.
It links an 800G switch port to two 400G NIC ports, or to another 2×DR4 on a switch. A TRO version cuts typical power from 15.5 W to 10.5 W on hosts that support it; host support is confirmed during evaluation.

Questions
What is the TRO version?
Transmit-retimed optics: the DSP retimes only the transmit path and the host's SerDes handles receive. It saves about 5 W per module, but the switch must support it, so it is qualified per platform.
Will it link to an OEM module on the other end?
Each port follows IEEE 400GBASE-DR4, the same standard the OEM modules use, so the two ends are designed to interoperate. We still ask you to confirm on your own links with evaluation units before volume.
Is 2×DR4 the same as DR8?
It carries the same eight 100G lanes. 2×DR4 splits them into two 400G ports on two MPO-12 connectors; DR8 keeps one 800G port on a single MPO-16.
